Hemp milk has become very popular and is not surprising why.  Hemp milk is a plant based alternative to cow’s milk, it’s suitable for vegetarians and vegans, and is lactose, soy and gluten free.  

It is made from whole hemp seeds and is rich in high quality plant protein, healthy fats and minerals.  As well as its nutritional benefits hemp milk may also benefit skin health and protect against heart disease.  

Although there is limited history of making hemp milk, hemp seeds have been eaten for a long time.

Hemp milk is made from whole hemp seeds and water – it’s that simple, although many commercial varieties do contain sweeteners, salt or thickeners, it is also often fortified with calcium, phosphorus and vitamins A, B12 & D.  It is a very good option to avoid soy, lactose or gluten.

Hemp milk has an earthy nutty taste and a creamy consistency, it can be consumed on it’s own, with cereal, hot or cold, in baked goods and smoothies.
